The sensor should be placed in the middle of the entrance, with the lens facing toward the inside of the litter box. If the sensor is not properly placed, it may not be able to detect when a cat enters or exits the box. As for the blue blinking light, it’s related to the DFI sensor. I still have a problem: the DFI in my litter robot 3 is longer and different than the one received with my order.That Blue flash followed by the rapid Yellow flash is indicative of a failure in the Drawer Full Indicators and Pinch Detect Terminals.
